Beach Fossils is a Brooklyn based indie rock project led by Dustin Payseur.
Emerging from a DIY bedroom recording tradition, the band is defined by a signature blend of jangly guitar melodies, laid back vocals, and atmospheric production. Their sound has evolved from the lo fi and breezy charm of their self titled debut toward more diverse territory, including the grittier post punk energy of Clash The Truth and the lush, baroque arrangements of Somersault. On their more recent work, such as Bunny, Payseur balances these eras by pairing refined pop sensibilities with a return to the scrappy, riff forward tones of their early years. Often associated with peers like Wild Nothing and DIIV, Beach Fossils creates a soundtrack of honest, nostalgic vignettes that capture the mundanity and beauty of city life.
