Converge is an American metalcore outfit known for a sound that marries visceral aggression with cerebral complexity.

Rooted in hardcore punk and heavy metal, their music is characterized by Jacob Bannon's desperate, venom throated screams and Kurt Ballou's brittle, noise laden guitar work, all anchored by a tightly wound rhythm section. From the landmark intensity of Jane Doe to the brooding, low frequency drones of Hum of Hurt, the band utilizes bewildering time signatures and massive grooves to explore themes of emotional bloodletting, mortality, and self improvement.
