Mount Kimbie

Mount Kimbie is an English group that emerged from the London electronic scene, moving from a bedroom-studio approach to a full live band configuration.

Originally associated with the post-dubstep sound alongside peers like James Blake, the group has consistently shifted its sonic center of gravity. Their early work focused on intimate, fragmented electronics and chopped vocals, later evolving into a blend of moody miniatures and slowcore guitar. This trajectory eventually led to a more vigorous eclecticism, incorporating post-punk, shoegaze, and dream pop on albums like Love What Survives and The Sunset Violent. Now operating as a quartet including Andrea Balency-Béarn and Marc Pell, the group balances refined production with a raw, guitar-driven energy. Their output is defined by an instinctive curiosity, ranging from the industrial bleakness of South London to the expansive, sun-baked atmospheres of the California desert, often featuring collaborations with King Krule.
